Polkerris Beach
With easy access via the slipway, this idyllic crescent shaped family beach located to the east of St Austell forms part forms part of the sheltered harbour of Polkerris. Polkerris is a quaint small village and part of the Rashleigh Estate with shops, a café, and a pub.
The Polkerris Beach Company is open 10am until 5pm and offers water sports equipment and lessons for the adventurous. The harbour will accommodate up to twelve moored boats.

Directions
Follow the A390 east, then after the St Austell Garden Centre, turn right at the roundabout onto the A3082. Carefully follow the signs to Fowey, passing through Par. At the crest of the steep hill turn right into Polkerris, then follow the signs down to the village. There is a car park 200 metres from the beach.

Pentewan Beach
A picturesque east-facing sandy beach of over half a mile. Excellent water quality which is ideal for swimming, surfing, windsurfing, canoeing and sailing with hire facilities.
It benefits from a free car park, café, toilets, a pub, disabled access and a retail park. Pentewan Village is also only 500 metres away.

Directions
Pentewan Beach is easily found to the north of Mevagissey by taking a short drive on the B3273.

Portmellon Beach
Set within a small sandy cove this east facing beach is accessed by a slipway and is a quieter beach than its neighbours with limited facilities and great for strolls with a pub close by with parking for patrons.

Directions
This beach is located just to the South of Mevagissey and can be found by taking a 10min walk along Polkirk Hill.

Pendower Beach
If you would like to explore further afield try this large sandy beach on the way to St Mawes, which is a 30-minute drive away.
This welcoming picturesque beach has toilets, two car parks which access the beach from a slipway and sloping lane with dogs allowed access to the beach on leads.

Directions
Drive out of Mevagissey via the B3273, then at Heligan take the A3078 towards St Mawes and take a left (signposted) towards Pendower, then after 2 miles take the right for Pendower Beach and follow down to the beach car park.
