Places of Interest

Mevagissey Harbour and Aquarium
This little aquarium can be found in the old RNLI lifeboat house located in the Harbour and has been an aquarium since the mid-50s. A very small exhibition of local sea life is on display and benefits from free entry with donations welcome.
Fishing trips can be taken from the harbour and a ferry can also take you to the nearby port of Fowey. Fowey is a haven for sailing enthusiasts and features many small independent shops selling unusual gifts with Mediaeval and Georgian buildings set around a breathtaking scenery.

Mevagissey Museum
Built in 1745 this small museum was formerly used to build and repair vessels for smuggling purposes. Today this museum houses interesting items in Maritime history, farming equipment such as the Apple Crusher and Cider Press, a Cornish Kitchen, a large collection of smaller artefacts and a photography collection of life during the 19th and 20th century.
Admission is free to enter.
